Our government's New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is open again for applications! This program provides grants of up to $25,000 for community-based projects that are volunteer based and led by seniors or designed for seniors. Over the last two years, organizations within Oakville East have received $365,000 in federal funding which has contributed to building senior engagement within our community and promoting seniors' mental and physical health and wellbeing.

As families are settling back into their school routine with the first day of class today, I too am preparing to return to Ottawa for another session of bringing Oakville East's voice to the House of Commons.
Over the summer, I spent time in Oakville East visiting our business community, attending local events, and meeting with residents to discuss my three key priority areas for which I will be advocating on behalf of our community: protecting and building the Canadian economy, strengthening community safety, and addressing affordability concerns in Oakville East.
I will continue to push for greater reforms in the area of criminal law, including consecutive sentencing for auto theft and serious and violent offences, and strengthening bail laws under the Criminal Code to ensure that repeat offenders are kept off our streets. In addition, our government recently established the Major Projects Office which will accelerate projects essential to Canada’s growth and address Canadians' affordability concerns by putting Canada on a stronger path to long-term economic prosperity. We also recently launched the Build Canada Homes initiative, which will double the pace of homebuilding to 500,000 new homes across Canada each year.
Thank you again to all friends, families, and neighbours for an engaging and productive summer here in our Oakville East community, and for your insight on the issues that matter most. Click here to view my End of Summer recap video showcasing what we accomplished in Oakville East this summer.
