About mY Youth Council
The Oakville East Youth Council brings together secondary students from across our community who are interested in making a difference.
As a member, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Parliament, the role of a Member of Parliament, and how different levels of government serve Canadians. You will also take part in discussions on issues that matter to young people and share your own ideas and perspectives.
You do not need previous political or volunteer experience to participate — just an interest in learning, contributing and getting involved in your community.

Throughout the year, Youth Council members will take part in monthly meetings, community events and interactive activities, including policy discussions and debates, guest speakers, community volunteering.
The Council is also an opportunity to meet other young people from across Oakville East and work together on issues that matter.

The Youth Council is open to students who:
Live in Oakville East
Are in Grades 9–12
Are interested in their community, government, public policy or civic engagement
Are able to participate in meetings and activities throughout the school year
