Budget 2025, released in the House of Commons yesterday, is an investment budget. We are making generational investments to:

  • Build the major infrastructure, housing and industries that grow our economy and create lasting prosperity.

  • Protect our communities, our borders and our way of life.

  • Empower Canadians with better careers, strong public services and a more affordable life.

In the face of global uncertainty, we are focused on what we can control. Canadians are going to build the future we want for ourselves. This is our moment, our time to build big, build bold and build now. We are building Canada Strong.

These generational investments include:

  • $51 billion over 10 years through the new Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) followed by $3 billion per year ongoing, to revitalize local infrastructure - hospitals, universities, colleges, roads and bridges - that serves and sustains our Oakville community, as well as cities and towns across Canada.

  • $3 billion over three years dedicated for a Health Infrastructure Fund (within the BCSF) that complements existing health-related support provided to provinces and territories to help ensure their health infrastructure, such as hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care centres, and medical schools, will be able to respond to the health care needs of Canadians.

  • $81.8 billion over five years to rebuild, rearm, and reinvest in the Canadian Armed Forces.

  • Creation of a new Defence Investment Agency (DIA) to overhaul and streamline Canada's defence procurement.

  • $1.7 billion over four years to the RCMP to strengthen their response to a wide range of threats, while enhancing their intelligence and national security capacity, including hiring 1,000 RCMP personnel.

  • $90.1 million over four years to the RCMP to better attract and maintain qualified and diverse RCMP candidates.

Canada's new government has been relentlessly focused on bringing costs down for Canadians. Above all, the government will empower Canadians by helping them get ahead and reducing their cost of living.

When Canadians keep more of the money they earn, they can better support their families, invest in their communities, and build the future they want.

Budget 2025 builds on the actions we have already taken to make life more affordable - delivering three major tax cuts, supercharging homebuilding to lower housing costs, and introducing Automatic Federal Benefits, along with further measures to assist Canadians.

  • Temporary Personal Support Workers (PSW) Tax Credit: Eligible personal support workers can claim a refundable tax credit of up to $1,100 per year, putting more of their hard-earned money back in their pockets.

  • Investing In Youth:  $1.5 billion total invested over two years in Canada Summer Jobs, Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, and the Student Work Placement Program (three years). These investments will support about 175,000 youth in 2026-27 alone build the skills they need for high-paying careers.

With Budget 2025, Canada is building the strongest economy in the G7, transforming it from reliance to resilience. In the face of uncertainty around the world, we are ensuring that our workers and businesses will prosper by building Canada's strength at home, an economy for Canadians, by Canadians.

Delivering progress and results for our community has been my focus since I was first elected in 2019, and with Budget 2025’s generational investments, I will continue doing just that. Budget 2025 is our plan to take control and build the future we Canadians want for ourselves. It is our plan to build Canada Strong so we can continue delivering progress and results here in Oakville East and across the country.

FIFA 2026
Sport is a powerful tool for diplomacy — it brings people together and builds bridges between nations. In 2026, Canada is co-hosting the FIFA Men’s World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico, where we will showcase our shared values of safety, inclusion, and excellence.

Diwali On The Hill
Diwali reminds us that light shines brightest when shared. It was wonderful to mark this festival of lights on Parliament Hill alongside friends, community members, and many fellow Members of Parliament who joined to honour this beautiful tradition.
