As your Member of Parliament, I know how important affordability is for families and individuals in Oakville East. Our government was elected to take real action to make life more affordable for Canadians, and we are delivering measures that reduce costs and provide meaningful support.

The Canadian Dental Care Plan, open to Canadians of all ages, is now helping nearly six million Canadians access essential dental care, providing health, well-being and financial relief.  Here in Oakville East, close to 12,000 residents have been approved, saving families an average of $800 each year.

Build Canada Homes will invest $13 billion over five years to double home construction over the next decade and build more affordable homes while increasing the supply of homes in Oakville East and communities across Canada.  For first time home buyers, the GST will be eliminated through the First Time Home Buyers GST Tax Credit, making home ownership more attainable.

To strengthen youth employment, Budget 2025 invests 1.5 billion over three years in the youth-focused programs: Canada Summer Jobs, the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, and the Student Work Placement Program. Canada Summer Jobs continues to support young people in Oakville East by helping them gain work experience and income, while assisting local businesses and community organizations with summer hiring.

Our National School Program will be made permanent, saving Oakville East families with two children approximately $800 annually and ensuring children have access to healthy food at school.

With these affordability measures, together with our middle-class tax cut for 22 million Canadians and the removal of the consumer carbon program, our government is cutting taxes, lowering costs and putting more money back into the pockets of Canadians.

I remain committed to delivering results for Oakville East, results that support families, reduce everyday expenses and create opportunities for young people. I look forward to continuing conversations with residents and working hard on your behalf.

G20 South Africa 2025
The G20 in South Africa was a true success. From launching negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with India, which could more than double our trade to $70 billion, to announcing new talks on an Investment Protection Agreement with South Africa, our new government is working hard to keep building.
